Decorate, Elevate, or Renovate?

How to Know What Your Space Really Needs

Three ways to transform a space: decorate what’s already working, elevate what needs a little more, or renovate when it’s time for a bigger change.

When a room isn't working, it's easy to assume the answer is a bigger project: tear something out, replace everything, start over. But often, the most effective transformation comes from understanding what's actually wrong before deciding what to change. You may be surprised by what a makeover actually looks like for you.

DECORATE

Sometimes the bones are right. The room simply needs the right furnishings, artwork, accessories, window treatments, lighting, or finishing touches to feel complete. This is where decorating can make a surprisingly dramatic difference without changing the architecture or spending renovation-level money.

ELEVATE

Other times a room needs more than decorating, but doesn't need to be gutted. Paint, wallpaper, lighting, updated finishes, improved layout, custom details, or a thoughtful combination of smaller improvements can completely change how a space feels and functions. This is one of my favorite kinds of projects because the transformation often comes from seeing possibilities that aren't immediately obvious.

RENOVATE

And, yes, sometimes you really do need to change the bones. Whether you're reworking a kitchen, bathroom, floor plan, or entire property, renovation requires more than a pretty vision. It takes thoughtful planning, material decisions, coordination, problem-solving, and someone who can keep all those moving pieces headed toward the same finished result. That's where my design and construction-management experience comes together.

So, which one do you need? The answer isn't always obvious. But you don't have to figure it out before you call me. The best first step is simply having an experienced eye look at the space to help you determine what will make the biggest difference for the investment you're able to make. However your space needs to change, that's what I'm here to help you do.

Decorate. Elevate. Renovate.
